Chapt 5 Sec 2
In class we discussed managing data resources. It was interesting to look at the different data systems but I was wondering even though we don't need to know what is a duplication and a replication system? and how are they different. I also thought it was important to note data redundancy but I feel that would be one of the hardest problem to manage… It is one of the important things to note when looking at problems in systems.
Thank you,
Courtney
Courtney: There's a big difference between redundancy in the SAME DB (bad!), and redundancy in duplicated DBs (e.g., as a back-up if a disaster happens).
ReplyDeleteIf you REALLY want details on the difference bweeen replication and duplication, (1) take a REAL database course, (2) look up both terms in Wikipedia, or (3) read a DB book....
